Trial locations and regions: In 2009 as in 2008, VIPS contains trial data from thirteen locations: Erie, Mt. Morris, DeKalb (Region 1), Monmouth, Goodfield, Dwight (Region 2), Perry, New Berlin, Urbana (Region 3), St. Peter and Belleville (Region 4), Elkville and Harrisburg (Region 5).

Originally, in 2000, VIPS contained data for twelve locations. In 2002, Mt. Morris was added to the original twelve locations. In 2005 Harrisburg replaced Dixon Springs. In 2006, Elkville replaced Carbondale, and in 2007, St. Peter replaced Brownstown.
